Mercado de Coleccoes (Lisbon, Portugal)

After days of eating almost nothing but pastries, I made Nathan go find me some fruit for breakfast. We couldn't find a supermarket, but ended up at this indoors farmer's market instead.

Ice cream (Lisbon, Portugal)

One of the best things about visiting a summer tourist destination like Lisbon is that there are ice cream stands everywhere!

Pasteis Meia Lua (Lisbon, Portugal)

Pasteis de Belem (Lisbon, Portugal)

Not sure if it was because of quality or mere proximity to tourist destinations, but this pastelaria was by far the most crowded of any we visited.
Muffins
They also had an impressive wall of cabinets filled with different ports.

Casa Brasileira (Lisbon, Portugal)

Pasteis de nata. Just about every pastelaria had these eggy custards.
The pao de queijo was gigantic, but not as tasty as Sao Nicolau's.

Apple tart with cinnamon stick
Pao de queijo
These cheesy breads were addictive, so we bought them by the half-dozen
Not sure exactly what was inside this tart, it tasted kind of like condensed milk.
Madeleine (different shape than French ones and with a lot more sugar on top)
